This dataset covers DOI metadata records that were registered for research data at DataCite in 2021 and any changes to the metadata that occurred within 2 years of initial registration.The data was collected from the activities endpoint of the DataCite API and preprocessed to describe if and how elements of metadata records were changed between versions. The sample comprises 5,985,516 versions of 2,688,310 metadata records.
