File S1 - Tetranychus evansi gene descriptions assignment based on reciprocal BLASTp searches

Reciprocal BLASTp searches (E-value threshold: 1 x 10-5) were performed against the Tetranychus urticae protein sequences (ORCAE, https://bioinformatics.psb.ugent.be/gdb/tetranychus/) to assign gene descriptions to Tetranychus evansi gene IDs. For each T. evansi gene with a reciprocal best BLAST hit to T. urticae (i.e. the top hit in both directions), the corresponding T. urticae gene description was assigned to the T. evansi gene, otherwise it was annotated as a hypothetical protein.
