It is important to study the mechanisms of peanut gynophore development and pod formation. Identification and functional analysis of key genes or pathways involved in gynophore and pod development could provide important information to understand this biological process. In this study, we collected gynophores before soil penetration, 3 and 10 days after soil penetration. Transcriptome of the 3 stage mixed simples were sequenced by Illumina HiSeqTM 2000. The reads were assembled into 72527 unigenes with average size of 394 bp.
