资源简介:
We replicate and extend the January 2017 study, \Evaluating the Impact of Florida's `Stand Your Ground' Self-defense Law on Homicide and Suicide by Firearm: An Interrupted Time Series Study" by David K. Humphreys, Antonio Gasparrini, and Douglas J. Wiebe, published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA). "Stand Your Ground" (SYG) laws removed the requirement to retreat rst before using lethal force to defend oneself if a person felt threatened. As SYG laws become increasingly popular in the US, scholars, elected officials and the public have debated the effects of these laws on crime and public health. The study by Humphreys et al (2017) provided much-needed evidence to support this discussion. (2018-05-16)
