THE EFFICACY AND SAFETY OF TRADITIONAL MEDICINE METHODS IN DERMATOMYCOSES AND INFLAMMATORY SKIN DISEASES

The global prevalence of dermatomycoses and chronic inflammatory skin diseases poses a continuous challenge to modern dermatology, primarily due to the rising incidence of antimicrobial resistance and the adverse effects associated with long-term corticosteroid therapy. This research provides a comprehensive clinical evaluation of the efficacy and safety of standardized traditional medicine methods, specifically evidence-based phytotherapy, utilized as an integrative treatment approach. Through a rigorous prospective, randomized, and controlled clinical trial, the study evaluated a diverse cohort of patients suffering from superficial fungal infections and chronic eczematous dermatitis. The integrated literature review synthesizes current pharmacological paradigms regarding the biochemical properties of active botanical compounds, emphasizing the synergistic antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory mechanisms of natural terpenes, flavonoids, and phenolic acids. The empirical results demonstrate that the integration of scientifically standardized traditional herbal extracts with conventional dermatological care significantly accelerates the resolution of clinical symptoms such as erythema, scaling, and severe pruritus. Furthermore, the integrative approach resulted in a statistically significant reduction in the required duration of topical corticosteroid application, thereby dramatically lowering the risk of skin atrophy and systemic absorption. The safety profile of the traditional remedies was found to be highly favorable, with only isolated and transient cases of mild allergic contact dermatitis recorded. The discussion advocates for a paradigm shift from viewing traditional medicine as merely an alternative, towards officially incorporating evidence-based phytotherapeutic protocols into standard dermatological guidelines. Ultimately, the study concludes that the rational, scientifically monitored application of traditional medicinal methods offers a highly efficacious, safe, and patient-friendly strategy for managing complex dermatological conditions.
