Juvenile Chinook Salmon Overwinter Nutritional Stress Dataset

This dataset accompanies a study on overwinter nutritional stress in juvenile Chinook salmon. We captured and sampled 1130 Chinook salmon during the first winter at sea from late September through early April in three consecutive winters (2020-2023). Data include Chinook salmon size metrics (length, N = 1128; weight, N = 1114), stomach fullness (N = 903), condition factor (N = 1114), energy density (N = 108), and organosomatic indices (N = 75). All Chinook salmon originated from rivers along the east coast of Vancouver Island, and river of origin is included in the dataset.
