Amplicon Sequencing of Bacterial 16s rDNA on stool samples from patients with coronary artery disease and healthy subjects

The composition and function of the gut microbiome are strongly associated with cardiovascular disease (CVD). We performed amplicon sequencing of bacterial 16s rDNA from the stools of 101 patients with different coronary artery disease (CAD) degrees and 31 healthy controls. There were significant differences in the gut bacteria between healthy controls and patients with varying degrees of CAD. Our data provide a resource to investigate further the role of gut bacteria in the study of CAD.
