Hydrocarbon-degrading bacterial communities enriched from long-term stored sediments of the southern Gulf of Mexico

This BioProject contains 16S rRNA sequencing data from bacterial communities enriched from long-term stored marine sediments collected in the southern Gulf of Mexico. The project investigates temporal shifts in hydrocarbon-degrading microbial consortia during incubation at 4 C, with the aim of understanding microbial succession and the natural attenuation of petroleum compounds in deep-sea and shallow-water environments.
