Male and female marine medaka at the ages of 1, 3, and 5 months were individually selected. Each group comprised three replicates. The gut tissues from each sample were dissected and subjected to rapid freezing in liquid nitrogen, followed by storage at low temperatures. Subsequently, the samples were sent to a biotechnology company for 16S rRNA sequencing.
