This project focuses on the role of endophytes in the composition and concentration of secondary metabolites of their plant hosts, including those responsible for fruit flavour and aroma. The goals of this study are, among others to (i) study whether there is a correlation between the composition and diversity of the endophytic community in tomato plants and the flavour and taste profile of tomato fruits and (ii) find out whether we can intensify and improve flavour and taste of tomato fruits by modifying the plant microbiome
