Consumer Behavior in Sustainable Consumption: Evidence on Re-use, Upcycling and Slow Fashion

This dataset contains quantitative and qualitative data on consumer behavior in the context of sustainable consumption, with a focus on re-use, upcycling, and slow fashion. The research is part of an applied interdisciplinary project aimed at developing an educational methodology that promotes desirable behavioral patterns aligned with the principles of the circular economy.The data were collected using a mixed-methods research design, including CAWI surveys (N = 1100), semi-structured interviews, and focus groups. The study also incorporates objective indicators derived from waste composition analysis to capture actual consumer behavior beyond self-reported responses.The primary target group consists of consumers across multiple regions in the Czech Republic. The dataset enables analysis of attitudes, knowledge, and behavioral intentions related to sustainable consumption.The dataset is suitable for research in sustainability education, behavioral economics, and environmental policy, and supports longitudinal and experimental analysis of behavior change.Date of Collection: November 2023 – December 2024Spatial Coverage: Czech Republic
