These preliminary Flood Proxy Maps (FPM) show areas which are likely flooded in northeast India and Bangladesh due to heavy rains brought by the monsoon season. These maps were derived from synthetic aperture radar data acquired by Sentinel-1 satellites operated by the European Space Agency (ESA) and ALOS-2 satellites operated by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA). Analysed by the ARIA-SG team at the Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS) in collaboration with NASA-JPL and Caltech.
