资源简介:
Summary
This metadata record provides details of the data supporting the claims of the related article: “Circulating amino acids and amino acid-related metabolites and risk of breast cancer among predominantly premenopausal women”. The related study investigated associations between breast cancer risk and amino acid-related metabolites, by profiling circulating metabolites in the blood plasma of participants of the Nurses’ Health Study II (NHSII). Type of data: Demographics and questionnaire data; plasma metabolomics profiles Subject of data: 116,429 female registered nurses enrolled in the Nurses’ Health Study II (NHSII) Population characteristics: 1057 cases and 1057 matched controls. Average 53 years old and predominantly premenopausal (80%) at time of blood collection. At diagnosis, 42% of the women were premenopausal and 46% were postmenopausal. The mean time between blood collection and diagnosis was 8 years (SD=4.4), ranging from 10 months to 17.4 years. (1st quartile: 4.25 years; 3rd quartile: 11.6 years). Recruitment: Registered nurses recruited into the Nurses’ Health Study II (NHSII) study. Date of data collection: 1996 to 2011 Geographic location: United States of America Data access The demographics, questionnaire data and the plasma metabolomics profiles are not publicly available for the following reason: data contain information that could compromise research participant privacy. Requests to access these data should be made via http://www.nurseshealthstudy.org/researchers. Analysis results for all metabolites data are openly available as part of this figshare metadata record in the file titled 'metabolomics_NHS2_breast_cancer_supplementary_data.xlsx'. This file comprises of 4 tabs titled 'supplementary_table1-4'. Corresponding author(s) for this study Oana A. Zeleznik (nhotz@channing.harvard.edu).
Study approval The study protocol was approved by the institutional review boards of the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, and those of participating registries as required.
