The data set encompasses chloroplast intergenic region sequence data and genome-wide sequence data of native diploid, introduced, and hybrid dandelions (genus Taraxacum) from all regions of Japan

The geographic genetic structure among native diploid Taraxacum species, introduced Taraxacum officinale, and hybrid Taraxacum species between them was compared based on the analysis of the chloroplast intergenic region sequence obtained by Sanger sequencing and single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) obtained by next-generation sequencing GRAS-Di (Genotyping by Random Amplicon Sequencing-Direct) from various regions of Japan.
