Soil microbes play critical roles in the biogeochemical cycling of antimony and arsenic, and the effects of Sb and As contamination on soil microbiota have been well studied in surface soils. However, their effects in deep soils remain poorly understood. This study applied high-throughput sequencing technology to determine the depth-resolved effects of Sb and As contamination on the microbial communities throughout soil profiles and compared contaminated soil samples to uncontaminated samples.
