Herbaceous survey data from the comprehensive survey on China's marsh wetland resources and their major eco-environmental benefits conducted during 2013–2018. This dataset is grouped by small quadrats, recording the growth and distribution patterns of species in the wetland herb layer. The data includes: serial number, wetland region, name and code of wetland patch, formation name, location, longitude, latitude, elevation, landform position, waterlogging status, soil, total coverage, community description, quadrat area, quadrat number, plant species name, Latin name, abundance, surveyors, and survey time. This dataset contains a total of 18,312 records.
