St. Olaf’s Church, Kalanti

There are two sets of medieval paintings in the St Olaf's Church (built 1430–1450) in Kalanti (Varsinais-Suomi). The floral vines, birds and human characters in the sacristy are from the decade of 1450. The paintings of the main hall belong to the Taivassalo group and date around the year 1470. The paintings in the vaults and on the upper walls as well as some of the paintings in the porch have survived. Among the motifs are floral vines and other ornamental patterns of the nature, saints with images of donators, intercessors of humankind -motif on the east wall as well as some hybrid creatures. In the porch there are fragments of morality motifs. Among the paintings is also the signature of the master painter "petr henrss pictor"
