We examined whether guarana intake changes the adult Drosophila microbiome by 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing. Flies were kept in the yeast/glucose medium with 0, 5, or 10 mg/ ml guarana for 72 hours. We isolated bacterial genomic DNA from fly feces. Each sample was prepared in triplicate to allow statistical analysis.
