The METRAQ air quality dataset is an air quality dataset comprising hourly measurements of up to 14 pollutants from January 1, 2001, to December 31, 2024. In addition, the dataset has been spatially and temporally aligned with up to seven meteorological parameters (available since January 1, 2019) and three traffic monitoring metrics, aggregated using five different interpolation methods since January 1, 2015. This enriched subset includes a total of 64,881,744 rows, comprising air quality data, meteorological data, and traffic data. METRAQ is the largest and most comprehensive dataset available to date in terms of covariates closely related to air quality. Furthermore, we provide baseline models for both forecasting and spatio-temporal imputation of air pollutant concentrations. METRAQ is designed to support the development of data-driven models that can inform public policy and regulatory decisions aimed at minimizing the impact of pollution on citizens health and well-being.
