The complete sequence of the Crioceris duodecimpunctata mitochondrial genome was determined at Simon Fraser University, Canada. The mitochondrial genome is typical of insects. It encodes 13 proteins involved in oxidative phosphorylation, 22 transfer RNAs and 2 ribosomal RNAs. Complete mitochondrial sequences from a broader array of insects will be useful to clarify their early phylogenetic relationships.
