Chikungunya virus strain:PR-S4, PR-S5, PR-S6 (Puerto Rico) Metagenomic assembly

Here we employed a number of genomic-based assays to (1) detect CHIKV infection by real-time transcription-mediated amplification (TMA) testing in 3 asymptomatic donors (0.54%) during the peak of the 2014-2015 epidemic in Caribbean, (2) confirm this finding using specific PCR, microarray, and NGS analyses (5), and (3) track the emergence of CHIKV in the Western Hemisphere to early 2013 by NGS-based whole-genome sequencing and molecular clock analysis.
