Data from: Rediscovered historical lots uncover the identity of Nikolaj A. Livanow’s <i>Protoclepsis </i>species and clarify the taxonomy of Palearctic waterfowl-associated leeches (Hirudinea: Glossiphoniidae)

This dataset (Bolotov et al. 2025b) contains photographic data from our article entitled "Rediscovered historical lots uncover the identity of Nikolaj A. Livanow’s <i>Protoclepsis</i> species and clarify the taxonomy of Palearctic waterfowl-associated leeches (Hirudinea: Glossiphoniidae)" (Bolotov et al., 2025a in <i>Systematic Parasitology</i>; https://doi.org/10.1007/s11230-025-10221-3). In particular, photographs of historical specimens examined and described by Nikolaj Livanow (1902) could be downloaded here. The historical samples were collected in 1899-1900 and are deposited in the EEZM – Edward Eversman Zoology Museum and Herbarium, Kazan (Volga Region) Federal University (formerly the Zootomy Cabinet Museum of the Imperial Kazan University), Kazan, Russia.
