资源简介:
Medical students in their clinical years often report a lack of confidence in applying anatomy knowledge, raising concerns regarding recent graduates' anatomy proficiency. With limited research on engaging and effective anatomy teaching methods, it was essential to explore strategies that involve active student participation. This study at Shalamar Medical and Dental College involved literature reviews and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with medical students and faculty to understand perceptions of game-based learning in anatomy. Insights from these discussions led to the development of a board game, 'Anatomy Cluedo.' The game underwent expert validation using the modified Delphi technique and was further assessed for response process validity through cognitive interviews, and construct validity through Flow Short Scale. In the pilot phase the Cognitive Learning gain of the participants was assessed to ensure that the game in ready for implementation.FGDs highlighted dissatisfaction with traditional anatomy lectures and a preference for gamified, interactive learning methods. The I-CVI (0.89 to 1.00) and CVR (0.56 to 0.89) indicated relevance, accuracy, alignment with educational standards, engaged learning, and consistency. The study proved beyond doubt that the potential of 'Anatomy Cluedo' possesses the potential to enhance anatomy education effectively. This board game offers a cost-effective, validated tool for teaching anatomy, featuring clinical scenarios and game mechanics that align with educational standards. The study emphasizes the positive impact of game-based learning on anatomy education, particularly cranial nerve anatomy.
