During a 2020 survey carried out among senior marketing and publishing executives from small to mid-sized enterprises from the United States, 28.5 percent of respondents stated they believed email addresses would replace third-party cookies as a consumer identifier; 8.5 percent believed the cookies would be replaced by phone numbers.
