Bacillus Spore Probiotics for Alleviating Functional Constipation in Children

This project aims to characterize the gut microbiota of preschool children with functional constipation before and after intervention with multi-strain Bacillus spore probiotics. Stool samples were collected from children receiving probiotic or placebo supplementation, along with samples from healthy controls, to generate 16S rRNA gene sequencing profiles. The dataset supports analyses of microbial diversity, taxonomic composition, and probiotic-associated shifts in gut microbiota structure. These sequencing data provide a resource for understanding microbiome changes associated with functional constipation and the potential impact of Bacillus-based probiotic interventions in young children.
