This study highlights a troubling increase in artemisinin resistance, which poses a significant challenge to Ethiopia's goal of eliminating malaria transmission by 2030. We analyzed data from 1,199 patients across 12 sentinel sites and found a concerning prevalence of resistance mutations, including the K13 R622I mutation at 15.7% overall, and the newly identified K13 A675V mutation in the Gambella Region, among others.
