The dataset accompanying the article “Fast Identification of γ-Emitting Radionuclides Based on Sequential Bayesian Approach” contains both experimental data used to validate the proposed method.The experimental data were acquired using a 1.5″ × 1.5″ LaBr₃(Ce) scintillation detector. The sequential Bayesian approach was applied for the rapid identification of low-activity γ-emitting radionuclides (137Cs, 60Co, and 133Ba) under both low and natural background radiation conditions. The results show that this approach can identify 137Cs in 7.9 s and 8.5 s (source dose rate contribution: approximately 6.5×10−3 µGy/h), 60Co in 8.1 s and 9.8 s (approximately 4.8×10−2 µGy/h), and 133Ba in 4.05 s and 5.99 s (approximately 3.4×10−2 µGy/h) under low and natural background radiation, respectively, with a miss rate below 0.01%. The dataset includes: γ-ray spectra of three radionuclides and background conditions; time-dependent values of the decision function derived from the sequential Bayesian identification algorithm. These data were used to evaluate the performance of the proposed sequential Bayesian method in identifying γ-emitting radionuclides at extremely low activity levels.
