Most of the landrace of NBRP-Wheat, Japan was collected by expeditions that Kyoto University dispatched to the native habitat of wild species and the regions where wheat has originated. Those landraces are ex-situ conserved hence avoiding intended introgression of modern cultivars. Takenaka et al. (2018) constructed the hexaploid wheat core collection with genotyping by the diversity arrays technology sequencing (DArTseq) method. Because the selection of endonucleases by DArTseq targeted the transcriptionally active subtelomeric regions of the chromosomes, only a few SNP markers were obtained near the centromere regions. Thus, to increase the marker density, we re-sequenced the 6x core collection by the GRAS-Di method.
