Hes7 binds the Lfng gene

The Hairy and enhancer of split 7 (Hes7) protein binds 4 N-boxes in the promoter of the Lunatic fringe (Lfng) gene and represses activation of Lfng by Notch signaling (Bessho et al. 2001, Chen et al. 2005). Cyclic expression of Hes7 (Bessho et al. 2001) and repression of Notch signaling by Lfng (inferred from chicken homologs in Dale et al. 2003) cause cyclic expression of Lfng during somite formation.

Hairy 和 enhancer of split 7（Hes7）蛋白与 Lunatic fringe（Lfng）基因启动子中的4个N-box结合，并通过Notch信号通路抑制Lfng的激活（Bessho 等人，2001年；Chen 等人，2005年）。Hes7的循环表达（Bessho 等人，2001年）以及Lfng对Notch信号通路的抑制（由 Dale 等人，2003年的鸡同源物推断得出）导致Lfng在体节形成过程中的循环表达。
