The Burden of Disease study uses methods developed originally for the GlobalBurden of Disease study refined and adapted to the Victorian context. Itprovides a comprehensive assessment of the amount of ill health in Victoria,Australia, measured in Years of Life Lost (YLL) arising from most diseases andinjuries.Years of Life Lost are the mortality component of the DALY determined for eachcause of death by the remaining life expectancy at the age of death.The Burden of Disease 'data' are modelled estimates, using methods developedoriginally for the Global Burden of Disease study but refined and adapted tothe Victorian context
