Interview Protocol

This document contains the semi-structured interview protocol used in the study <i>“</i><b>Taking Flight with Aviation English: How are Malaysian Teachers Preparing the Next Generation?</b>.” The protocol was designed for English lecturers teaching Aviation English in Malaysian aviation schools accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM).The interview guide covers four main areas:Knowledge of Aviation EnglishKnowledge of Aviation English content and pedagogyPrior knowledge and self-awareness as teachers and learnersChallenges in teaching Aviation EnglishThe protocol was adapted from Abeden (2015) and used to elicit lecturers’ experiences, perspectives, and challenges in designing and delivering Aviation English courses. It provides the basis for the qualitative data collected and thematically analysed in the study.
