Vaccinium berries and drug interaction - systematic review

The obtained records were used to develop a systematic review using the PRISMA program. Electronic searches were conducted in science libraries, Cochrane, Ebsco, Embase, PubMed, Scopus and Web of Science. The searches involved a combination of MeSH terms and keywords, the use of quotation marks and field markers with BOOLEAN operators. For all databases, five primally exclusion steps were determined: 1. keywords (vaccinium OR blueberry OR bilberry OR cranberry) AND (“drug interactions” OR “medicines interactions”), 2. year (1993-2025), 3. publication type (article), 4. language (English), 5. source type (journal). A bibliographic query was made on March 29-30, 2024, update was made on July 2025.
