Review of research on the social and psychological effects of the Internet on well-being and interpersonal relationships of users

Well-being and healthy social relationships are basis of human functioning. Recently, the internet has become an important channel of communication. Because of its increasing role there is also an increased research interest in the relationship between internet use and people's well-being and social lives. This article presents a review of selected American and Polish studies concerned with the influence of the Internet on the social and psychological lives of its users.
