This project studies the global transcriptional changes of P. veronii 1YdBTEX once it is introduced in different soils which contain a establish resident microbial community. We would like to characterize the response from the resident community members to the introduced strain.

This study project for a complete characterization and interpretation of all the essential functions enabling the survival, growth and activity of strain 1YdBTEX2 in soil polluted with aromatic compounds. We attempt to identify critical factors of its activity in soil microcosms toimprove the conditions for a better establishment and propagation of the strain in real scenarios. We are using, mainly, metatranscriptomicapproaches to study the metabolic and physiological adaptiveresponses across different time points in the bioaugmentation process. Additionally,analysis of metatranscriptomic data coming from resident communities may give information about the response from the soil community to a new (highly abundant) member.
