Attachment, loneliness, self-compassion, and psychological symptoms of Vietnamese college students

This dataset contains anonymized survey data collected from 449 Vietnamese college students from 10 November to 24 November 2021 to examine the associations between insecure attachment and mental health outcomes, with a specific focus on the mediating roles of loneliness and self-compassion.

Participants completed a set of self-report questionnaires assessing attachment insecurity, loneliness, self-compassion, and mental health indicators (e.g., stress, anxiety, and depression). All items were rated using Likert-type scales. Composite scores were computed following standard scoring procedures for each instrument.

The dataset was designed to support path analysis and mediation modeling, allowing for the examination of both direct and indirect relationships among the study variables. No personally identifiable information is included, and all data were collected in accordance with ethical research standards, including informed consent from participants.

This dataset may be useful for researchers interested in attachment theory, college student mental health, loneliness, self-compassion, and structural modeling approaches in psychological research.
