This data package accompanies manuscript entitled "<b>On the role of soil water retention characteristic on aerobic microbial respiration</b>" by Teamrat A. Ghezzehei, Benjamin Sulman, Chelsea L. Bogie and Asmeret Asefaw Berhe, published in Biogeosciences (2019)<br>For additional information contact Soil Physics Lab at UC Merced (https://soilphysics.ucmerced.edu) taghezzehei@ucmerced.edu<br><b>Contents</b>:There are two self-contained R files that fit the proposed respiration model to experimental data. The codes are well anottated and self-explanatory. They read raw and proceesed data from accompanying folders and produce tabulated outputs and figures. A figures folder contains all the figures that are included in the paper and generated by these codes. <br>Both R codes will load the required packages at the start of execution.<br>Data used for model testing were obtained by one the following:1.
