In this research, we tried to stimulate the growth of acidophilic sulfate reducing bacteria in the acidic pit lake named Cueva de la Mora. The stimulation of sulfate reducing bacteria leads to dissimilatory sulfate production. The product of this process, sulfide, can immobilize harmful metal(loid)s by forming insoluable metal-sulfide precipitates. This bioproject covered the 16S rRNA amplicon data of the microcosms amended with different substrates.
