The gene transcription factor pleomorphic adenoma gene 1 (PLAG1) is believed to play a key role in regulating aspects of reproduction, because mice with targeted disruption of both alleles of Plag1 are characterized by reduced fertility in both sexes (Hensen et al. Dev Growth Differ. 2004;46:459-470). The aim of this study was to investigate the role of PLAG1 in male reproduction by investigating the effect of PLAG1 deficiency on the transcriptome of testis, pituitary gland and hypothalamus in mice.
