Number of mortgages sold in the Netherlands 2015-2020

The quarterly number of mortgages sold in the Netherlands peaked in the fourth quarter of 2020, with approximately 122,000 mortgages sold. In recent years, the housing market has continued to rise in the Netherlands due the asset purchase programme (APP) of the European Central Bank and the, consequently, low mortgage rates. This can be seen in the, the number of registered transactions, which has risen by over 100 percent since 2013.
