Research Data supporting "Chalcophile element processing at an active continental arc volcano"

Two excel spreadsheets containing compositional data for silicate melts and volcanic gases and aerosols collected from Villarrica Volcano, Chile. Data were collected as part of Emily Mason's EPSRC studentship. The first excel spreadsheet, Mason Data 1, contains volcanic gas and aerosol composition and associated metadata for Villarrica Volcano, Chile, global compilations of emanation coefficients and emission rates. Tab 1 contains a detailed description of the datasets. Samples were collected using filter packs and cascade impactors from the crater rim. Filters were analysed at the University of Cambridge using ICP-MS. The second excel spreadsheet, Mason Data 2, contains melt inclusion major, volatile and trace element data for erupted products of Villarrica Volcano, Chile. Tab 1 gives a full description of the datasets. Major elements and sulfur, chlorine concentrations were measured by electron microprobe at the University of Cambridge. Trace elements were measured at the Open University using Laser Ablation ICP-MS.
