Are HESS J1849-000 and HESS J1626-490 Powered by PulsarsquestionMark

Detecting the pulsars that power Galactic TeV sources is the key tounderstanding the origin of those that remain unidentified. We have twoexcellent new Xray candidates to search for pulsations, from XMM observationsof the Integral source IGR J184900000 coincident with the compact TeV sourceHESS J1849000, and XMMU J162703.03491232.7 found within the TeV extent of HESSJ1626490. Both are bright, nonthermal point sources with a faint nebula. Allcharacteristics of these objects resemble those of young, energetic pulsars.Finding the expected pulsations will allow us to determine their energetics,critical for understanding the luminosity and size of their TeV nebulae. truncated!, Please see actual data for full text [truncated!, Please see actual data for full text]
