Broward County Dataset

This dataset encompasses information on 7,214 defendants arrested in Broward County, Florida, between 2013 and 2014. The included non-sensitive attributes cover the defendants' race, age, prior criminal charges and other relevant details. Furthermore, the dataset provides ground-truth data regarding whether each defendant committed a subsequent offense within a two-year timeframe. Specifically, the dataset comprises 3,696 African American defendants and 2,454 White defendants, with recidivism rates of 51.43% and 39.36% for African American and White defendants respectively. The core focus of this study is on fair and diversified data collection tasks under budgetary constraints.
