Danish Meteorological Institute Multisource Sea Ice Concentration Composite (DMI-MSC-SIC)

The DMI-MSC-SIC provides global sea ice concentration from 1st of January 1982 to 31st of December 2024. The dataproduct combines sea ice concentration information from various sources including passive microwave observations, from the SMMR and SSM/I(S) sensors (OSI-450-a and SICCI-HR-SIC) and the AMSR-E and AMSR2 sensors (OSI-458) , and manually derived sea ice charts from US National Ice Charts (NICs) , Finish Meteorological Insitute (FMI) and Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute (SMHI). Various filters and a bias correction have been apllied to ensure consistency and gap-filling has been performed where necessary to provide a gap-free product. The dataset is Level 4 and is provided in a 0.05 regular latitude/longitude grid.
