Monthly lake area changes (> 10 km2) on the Tibetan Plateau (2000–2024)

Data Source Information We extracted surface water using the MODIS MOD09A1 Collection 6 (500 m) surface-reflectance product on Google Earth Engine. A Random Forest (RF) classifier was applied for water extraction, followed by post-processing steps including morphological operations, geometric correction, boundary IoU constraints, and retention of holes/islands. Coordinate system: WGS 84 / UTM zone 45N (EPSG: 32645). 5. Data Accuracy Precision: 0.986, Recall: 0.875, F1 score: 0.927 6. Estimated Data Volume Approximately 180-200 MB
