VPRS 18063 Contract Register

This series consists of Contract Registers maintained by the Shire of Arapiles (VA 2374) from 1949 to 1994.Section 455, Part XVI of the Local Government Act 1915 allowed municipal councils to enter into contracts for the purposes of executing works directed or authorised by the Act. The same piece of legislation stipulated the need for such contracts to be in writing.Contract Registers provide a brief summary of contracts entered into by the Council for the provision of goods and services. The registers include the following information:- contract number- description of contract- name and address of contractor- financial details.
