Dataset from the validation of the Brief Learning Strategies Scale (Escala Breve de Estrategias de Aprendizaje)

The dataset from the validation of the Brief Learning Strategies Scale (Escala Breve de Estrategias de Aprendizaje, EBEA) is an Excel database generated from the administration of the scale at a university in northern Mexico. The sample consisted of 1,975 undergraduate students enrolled in different academic programs. Participants provided sociodemographic information and responded to 11 items on the scale. Based on the collected data, multivariate analyses (exploratory and confirmatory factor analyses) and reliability analyses were conducted, providing evidence of the validity and internal consistency of the EBEA, which is composed of two factors: elaboration strategies and organization strategies. The Excel dataset includes the following sociodemographic variables: age, sex, gender, country of residence, city, degree program (major), current semester, mode of study, and overall grade point average (GPA). Additionally, it includes questions about whether students have received a scholarship during their studies, whether they are currently employed, the number of hours worked per week, and whether they participate in extracurricular activities.
