资源简介:
Newborn Care Unit (NCU) admissions serve as an important indicator of maternal and neonatal health system performance, particularly in resource-limited settings where disparities in care persist. Sociodemographic factors such as maternal age, education, and socioeconomic status, alongside feto-maternal complications like preterm birth, low birth weight, hypertensive disorders, and maternal anaemia, strongly influence neonatal outcomes and admission rates. This study is therefore justified as it seeks to evaluate the determinants and complications associated with NCU admissions in Northern Ghana, generating evidence to inform targeted interventions that improve antenatal care utilization, reduce preventable complications, and ultimately lower neonatal morbidity and mortality.
