Metagenomics study of the gut microbiome of representative mammalian on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau. undefined

Through metagenomic sequencing of 1,412 fresh fecal samples of 6 representative mammals on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau, the gut microbial genome catalog of animals on the Qinghai-Tibetan Plateau was constructed. The results of this study not only highlight animals living in harsh environments as a promising source for the discovery of novel biological functions, but also provide insights into the diversity, stability, and functionality of mammalian gut microbiomes as well as the diverse evolutionary patterns of mammalian host-gut microbiome interaction over evolutionary times.
