Sulfur Metagenome-assembled genomes (MAGs) from mine soils across Chin

This project presents a collection of 210 metagenome-assembled genomes (MAGs) reconstructed from 420 acid mine drainage (AMD) and associated soil samples collected from 58 geographically distinct mining areas across China. These MAGs were specifically curated to investigate the evolutionary history of microbial dissimilatory sulfur metabolism, particularly the functional transition from reductive to oxidative pathways in response to planetary oxygenation. The MAGs were generated via Illumina sequencing, assembled with MEGAHIT, and binned using MetaWRAP. All MAGs meet quality thresholds of >75% completeness and <10% contamination as assessed by CheckM2. This genomic resource is expected to facilitate studies in microbial evolution, biogeochemistry, and adaptation to extreme environments
