A dataset of paired Doppler radar rainfall prediction and subsequent gauge measurements extracted from literature

This dataset comprises a single spreadsheet, <b>DopplerWeatherData.csv</b>, in Comma Separated Value format. The spreadsheet has two columns, DopplerGauge and DopplerRadar, and 8830 rows of data.<br>The data are ordered raw data for Doppler radar precipitation estimates with associated gauge precipitation estimates. The DopplerGauge column contains rainfall values (mm) given by the recording gauge following the precipitation event. The DopplerRadar column contains estimated rainfall values (mm) given by the Doppler radar estimates prior to the precipitation event. The data were extracted from ten publications (links listed in the References, below) and integrated into this single dataset representing multiple radar sites and rain gauge sites.<br>The objective of the related publication is to facilitate the study of precipitation estimation by providing a dataset which allows comparison of the accuracy of the Doppler radar estimated precipitation with the actual comparative gauge data.
